this is me... as best as I can tell you!
I began drawing houses a long time ago. My first two children were small, and while most mommies might sit and read while their babies sleep (...haha...I know I'm going to hear about this from somebody, but just stay with me...) I drew houses. Pure relaxation & totally head-clearing, and because I so enjoy architectural details every single drawing challenges me in some way and I really love that!
When I realized what my work was doing for others I was pretty amazed, because I didn't plan it that way. Thus began my hobby. Just think about it... these are our homes. And I should say that in all uppercase, or with emphasis somehow... our homes... because they are that important. This is where you started your grown-up life, or it's where you grew up. This is where you brought your babies home, and where they grew up. It's a place full of memories that one can never quite describe perfectly enough -- it's a place full of laughter & tears, skinned knees, dirty faces, and it's where you taught them to tie their shoes & you wiped their boogies, it's where you sat on the swings and ate popsicles for breakfast, everyone still in PJs. It's full of happy memories and sad, of the old ones & the new. This is the reason why you scrimped & saved & packed all those lunch bags -- so you could buy your first home. This is the place you work so darn hard for every day -- or maybe it's your beach house that you and your family escape to whenever you possibly can. Or a cabin on the lake or in the mountains. It's where you go and it's who you are. And this is the place you will have to say goodbye to someday because it's time for the next chapter... something smaller because they've all grown up with all thanks to you teaching them how. I discovered my work allows you to take those memories with you wherever you go. And I discovered how much I cry each time somebody tells me all of this when they first see their new artwork.
Drawing for others came by way of word of mouth. I've had a good time -- lots and lots of Christmas orders, birthdays, Mother's Day, anniversaries, Father's Day, some professional thank-you gifts, some wedding gifts. Truly fun. And the accompanying notecards became treasures. I have to remind people they actually can use them because I really can make more very quickly -- just ask and..., ta-da!
So here we are. Please take a look, and enjoy. I would love to hear from you -- my contact info is all over the place here, buzz me anytime. Placing an order from me is super-easy. I draw from photos taken by either you or me, depending on the location of the home. My fee is $400 (on the very rare & extraordinary occasion that might go up a bit, depending on the size & complexity of the structure), and you will receive the original, unframed image sized approximately at 14"x18" (by the time you frame it you'll have a beautiful 20"x26"-ish piece) and a set of 20 notecards & envelopes to match. Typically I need about two weeks for delivery, but I've been known to pull off a small miracle every now & then. Additional quantities of notecards can be ordered anytime as can customized hand-colored cards and other specified sizes suitable for framing or postcards.
I think you'll like your purchase. I really, really do. Please give it some thought and I'd always love to hear from you!
Peace --
